Ledger Reconciliations

Ledger reconciliation is the process of verifying that the account balances in an organisation's general ledger are accurate and complete by comparing them to supporting documents. It involves identifying and correcting any discrepancies to ensure the financial records are reliable and to correct errors and prevent fraud. This is a key internal financial control, performed monthly, or quarterly to tie in with the management accounts.
